The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) is the government’s policy to help companies and employees during the COVID-19 crisis. Under the scheme the government will cover 80% of worker’s wages up to 2,500 a month. The scheme was launched on the 20th April. Government delay VAT domestic reverse charge procedures for Builders / subcontractors until 2020
Industry representatives have raised concerns that some businesses in the construction sector are not ready to implement the VAT domestic reverse charge for building and construction on 1 October 2019. To help these businesses and give them more time to prepare, the introduction of the reverse charge has been delayed for a period of 12 months until 1 October 2020.
